HAPPY 2 MONTH ANNIVERSARY SHAUN AND SHERI

WOW!! Time is really going by--hard to believe they have been married two months already!! It is so fun to have them close. We enjoyed a Red Lobster date with them on Sunday evening! Sheri is working here in Spearfish at TANGLES once a week! So if you are in the area on Wednesday's stop in and have her do some magic on your hair!! She did mine yesterday!!

TWO WEEK CHECK

Collin had a two week check today!! Hard to believe he is already two weeks old! He is doing well! He was 8#13 ounces today and 21.75 inches long! He is growing!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Had to post the new pictures of Grandma Marti's and Grandpa Alvin's little sweetheart! I just love the one of his big eyes and the one of him and his daddy just melt me!

Collin has a big weekend coming up! He is getting to meet some more family--his Aunt Laura is coming to visit today as well as his Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Sateren and Karen's Aunt Corene! They will all be as smitten with the little guy as we were when we met him!!

Latest Picture!

Hard to believe that our little guy is one week old today! And boy his Grandma Marti and Grandpa Alvin are missing him! We both sat around tonight and looked at pictures and wished we were in North Carolina! It was so much fun to be there and to get to meet him and to watch Jason and Karen begin their parenting journey.
They sent pictures last night of his first bath! I'm not to sure he was real impressed with the whole process by the looks of the pictures!

MORE OF MY FAVORITE PICTURES!!

I spent a good part of my day looking at and organizing pictures. I love to look at Collin and see how much he change even in the short time we were there. It's back to work tomorrow! I have to earn $$ for another plane ticket!
I talked to Jason this afternoon and they had a good day. Collin seems to have gotten in to a pretty good schedule.

MISSING CAPTAIN ADORABLE!!

It was so hard to leave yesterday afternoon to catch the plane back to South Dakota! But it had to happen! We leave knowing that Collin is in the capable hands of his Mommy and Daddy, that they have a good support system, that Grandma Carol and others will be to visit soon and that we will plan another trip soon!! Collin had a check up yesterday and the doctor confirmed that he is being well taken care of! He has already started to gain some of the ounces back he lost after birth. Everything checks out good!

SUNDAY'S PICTURES!!

We had a great day just hanging out and taking pictures of Collin! We think he gets cuter by the moment!! It will be so hard to get on the plane tomorrow and head back to South Dakota! We will be sad to leave this new little family but are comforted by the fact that they have such a great support system here! Their Sunday School Class members are bringing in meals in all of this week and they have great friends and neighbors that will be looking in on them.

BLANKET BUDDIES

Before Jason was born (almost 30 years ago!!) my friend Betty (or Betty Hickum as the boys always called her) made the above green quilt for Jason. He loved that blanket! He took it everywhere with him--even kindergarten! So when I found out that he and Karen were expecting I dug out the well loved, well worn blankie and presented an idea to my friend Janelle. "Can you fix this one and duplicate it so Jason's baby can have one too?"
And she did!! She did such a great job on it and I think Collin will grow to love it as much as his daddy loved his! Thanks Janelle it's great!!

MY FAVORITE PICTURES OF THE DAY!!

WELCOME HOME COLLIN!!!

We were all anxious to see how the other "kids" in the family would react to Collin. Sadie and Mater were excited to see Jason and Karen but didn't know what to think of Collin!! Mater is quite curious but Sadie would rather hide! It will be fun to see what they think of their new master!!

SNUG AS A BUG

Collin had a little "procedure" done this afternoon but it didn't seem to bother him! He loves to be "swaddled" and his daddy is already an expert at it!!

HAPPY HAPPY GRANDMA!!!!!

He's Even Cuter Today!!!

We had the privilege to spend most of today at the hospital with Jason, Karen and Collin! What a great day it was just hanging out and cuddling Collin and watching Jason and Karen begin their parenting adventure!! We are just in awe of this little guy and are so in love with him already!!

The "grand" In Grandparent!!!

It has hard to put in to words the feelings that Alvin and I had last night as we were introduced to Collin for the first time. If I were to use the word overwhelming that would be an understatment. He is beautiful and we are so proud of Karen and Jason! Karen did a great job getting Collin here safe--and Jason took serious all of their classes and was a great coach and support! We are sure looking forward to more Collin time this weekend! I will post more pictures soon!

They have a room!!!

Jason sent a text about 9 our time (11 there) to let us know they had a room!! She was having some contractions and was dilated a little!! So it looks like we could have a baby tomorrow!!! I will try to post an update before we leave for the airport!! We get to Raleigh at 4 tomorrow afternoon and then will rent a car and drive the 70 miles to Jason and Karen's. I will hopefully have pictures and more info to post tomorrow night!!
Thanks so much for love, prayers and support!! I'm going to be a Grandma soon!!!!

Plans change!!

Well as I posted the other day the plan was to induce this morning! Well the real plan was to wait some more!! The kids had to call the hospital this morning to see if there was room for them to come in and be induced! There wasn't!! So they are on a list and keep calling to see where they are on the list!! Karen did just text to say that the hospital wants them to come in for some tests so.....
I will keep you updated as I get updates! Please pray with us that the tests go well, that Karen and Collin are both fine, that Jason and Karen keep their good attitudes (they are getting tired!!) and that things start to progress towards his delivery.

Not Yet!!!!

That's the answer to the "is he here" question we've been getting! Jason and Karen were in for a check this morning and all of the vitals look good. I have decided he is a very content baby and likes it where he is at--his mommy is thinking he is a little on the stubborn side and is making them wait until he is good and ready!! We are praying for contractions!!! The plan is to induce on Wednesday but Karen and Jason would really like labor to start on its own!
I will keep you posted!
