Happy Friday!

Karen called this morning after they had been to the Dr. Everything looked good--good heartbeat, good fluids, baby was in the right position so it looks like things are getting closer. Karen was going home to put her "big" boy to bed for the day as he is down with a nasty cold. They will go back for a check up on Monday if little C.S. doesn't make his appearance before then.
Alvin and I are heading to North Carolina on Thursday morning!! I can hardly wait! We are going just for a long weekend this time and then I plan on going back to help out after Jason leaves and Grandma Carol has had a chance to love on our little guy! In the past I have struggled to get my four weeks vacation used up each year but I don't think I will have a problem with that anymore!!
I will keep you posted if I hear any news from North Carolina! Enjoy the weekend!

Still waiting.....

Jason sent another picture tonight--he's hoping (and so are we) it's the last one with the baby on the inside! Don't they both look happy!! They go in tomorrow morning for some checks on the baby and to make sure everything is still on track. If Karen doesn't go in to labor on her own they will induce next Wednesday. Jason is thinking that the baby might interrupt the Super Bowl and come then. This Grandma thinks that would be better than any half time show or silly commercial!!
Thanks for checking in on the mcamisfamilymoments! We will keep you updated!

Not Today!!

Well who really knows when a baby is due anyway!! I think my little grandson wants to pick his own date! I talked to Jason this afternoon and even though the mom and dad are both READY it appears that little C.S. McAmis isn't! Thanks for joining me in prayer for his safe and healthy delivery and patience for his mom and dad--on what ever date he chooses to make his appearance!

We have enjoyed a great weekend--had a nice mix of relaxing and preparation for worship. Enjoyed another great Sunday morning and then napped this afternoon!

We did watch a great movie this weekend--THE EXPRESS--has my favorite movie elements--sports story and based on a true story--I recommend it. It was good.

Will post any news from North Carolina as soon as we have any!! Have a great week!

South Dakota Variety

One good thing about blogging about the weather is then you can keep track of the variety that we have in South Dakota!! Wednesday at noon I ran some errands and the temp said 61--today at noon I ran errands again and the temp said 1! Now that's variety! I think I like Wednesday's temp better!

Another week of work is done for both Alvin and I. We both love our jobs but do enjoy when the weekends come! Tomorrow we will work on getting things ready for worship team potluck and practice. The theme for this week is Breakfast for Supper! Always a favorite.

No news from North Carolina!

Ready... Set....Wait!!

The room is all ready--and it looks so cute! Talked to Karen this afternoon and the Doctor doesn't think our little guy is quite ready to make his grand entrance just yet! So....we just wait.

No News

No news from North Carolina today! I try not to bug too much but will call them tomorrow after they go to the Dr.!! Four days until the due date!
I had a great day off --sure enjoyed our 60 degree day but guess it is a short lived warm up as the weekend is supposed to be below zero again! Hope to have baby news and pitctures to post soon!

A North Carolina Snow Storm

I was all excited when I got a text message this morning with a picture!! I thought something had happened during the night but no baby yet--Jason just wanted to send a picture of their "blizzard"!! He said they had been giving warnings since yesterday afternoon about the possible 2 to 3 inches of snow!! He and Karen were really getting a kick out of how worked up everyone was! I guess it pretty much shut the town down!! What a switch for them and for us--we had North Carolina weather today!! It was sixty degrees but we did have some wind!! Our snow and ice are about gone--ready for the next round!

Hopefully the next text message with pictures I get will be of the new little grandson!! Five days until the due date-but who's counting!!!

The Happy Mom and Dad

This was taken in October right before Jason left for some training time. We are so proud of both Jason and Karen and their commitment to his duty to our country. They both have great attitudes and are willing to give up time together for his training and deployments.

Second Ultra Sound Pictures

I think these are amazing! I appreciate that Karen has been so willing to share pictures with us!

It's A boy! and Grandpa Alvin's New Truck

It has been so fun to anticipate the birth of the new little life and when it was very obvious that "it's a boy"--the tech even wrote on the ultra sound pic "I have boy parts"--it made it seem even more real. For quite a long time the name was kept secret but we knew the initials would be after Jason's Great Granddad Carp--thankfully just the initials would be the same! So it was fun to start anticipating what little C.S. McAmis would stand for and more than that--what will he look like? What will his personality be? How big will he be--all those details that us Grandma's love to think about! I often would just sit and think about this little guy with great anticipation and have fallen in love with him already! I love to think about all the things that I will get to do with him and for him--his Grandpa Alvin loves to think about giving him his first truck ride and taking him to the Yamaha shop. Speaking of truck rides--Grandpa Alvin was given a brand new truck this fall--a 2009 Kenworth--he's pretty proud of it!

Anniversary Present

Back in June, Jason and Karen called to tell Alvin and I Happy Anniversary--I thought it a little strange that they call at the same time but as we chatted I could tell Jason was pretty excited about something! Jason then went on to tell me that we would be getting a present in 9 months ( and Karen quickly said "no 8 months!!) and then I knew what they were about to announce!! This was the first picture we were sent! It's still on my fridge!!

Beginning the blog....

I thought it would be fun to have a blog to follow the adventures of our family this coming year. The event we are all waiting for is the arrival of "Little C.S. McAmis". His Mommy Karen and Daddy Jason graciously said that Grandma Marti could blog this great event!! This is my first attempt of blogging so here goes!
